Manchester United’s National League Cup game at Tamworth was abandoned after midfielder Sekou Kone suffered a serious injury.
United’s U21 side started their Nations League Cup campaign against non-league Tamworth at The Lamb Ground on Wednesday night.
But the game was abandoned shortly before half-time after Kone suffered a worrying head injury.
Manchester Evening News reporter Steven Railston said Kone fell to the floor after a collision with a Tamworth opponent.
The highly-rated midfielder initially got back to his feet but was instructed by medical staff to take a seat as he received treatment.

Kone was then stretchered off the pitch while appearing to wear an oxygen mask. He received further treatment in an ambulance inside the stadium
