ATLANTA — Lt. Gov. Burt Jones is getting some presidential power behind his campaign for governor.

President Donald Trump shared on social media he's endorsing Jones in the 2026 election. The president said Jones was committed to his previous campaigns for president and "worked tirelessly to help us WIN."

"Burt has proven he has the Courage and Wisdom to deliver strong results for the incredible people of his wonderful State and Nation," Trump said on Truth Social.

In a news release from Jones' campaign, his team echoed Trump's sentiment, saying the lieutenant governor has been a "day one" support of Trump.
