Acclaimed actor Sean Bean, renowned for his performances in Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings and This City Is Ours, is poised to feature in a fresh period drama.

MGM+ has today revealed an initial glimpse of the forthcoming series Robin Hood, which is scheduled to premiere later this year.

The debut season, comprising ten episodes and offering a fresh take on the English folk hero's tale, features Bean as the intimidating Sheriff of Nottingham alongside Gladiator star Connie Nielsen portraying Eleanor of Aquitaine.
