Lloyds has issued a warning for customers over a £5,000 rule as they threaten being denied cash withdrawals. Lloyds Bank, which is rivalled by Barclays, Santander, HSBC UK, NatWest, Nationwide, spoke out via social media.

A Twitter/X user said: "@LloydsBank am I able to withdraw a sum of money over the counter in excess of £5k?" In response, Lloyds Bank said: "Lloyds @LloydsBank Hi there, Tracey.

"Our colleagues in a full-service branch would be happy to help you with that withdrawal. You will need your debit card and PIN for this. I hope that helps. ^PaulG"
