York County native and Halestorm lead singer Lzzy Hale is coming clean about getting clean

In a new interview with Metal Hammer , Hale, 41, talked about her decision to quit drinking, saying that alcohol was turning her into someone she didn’t like.

“I was looking for an escape in all the wrong places,” Hale, who appears on the cover of this month’s issue of the magazine, said. “I saw myself in a way that I never wanted to be. I almost saw my nemesis in myself, a woman I did not want to become.

“I think that if I had gone any further … I don’t know what would have happened with my relationship with my bandmates, my relationship with myself," she said. “That was the peak of it all.”
