New details have been released about a serious crash that closed the 401 on Wednesday.
An investigation into the incident by Northumberland OPP is ongoing.
In a press release, police say they were notified of a three-car collision on the westbound lanes of Highway 401 just after 10 p.m. Police responded to the scene, just east of the Lyle Street Overpass, along with fire and ambulance.
One passenger was transported to a Toronto-area hospital by Air ORNGE with life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the collision, Highway 401 west was closed from County Road 25 in Colborne. The highway has since reopened.
