More summer extreme heat is on deck for southeast Louisiana Thursday, with temperatures forecast to feel up to 111 degrees as the area starts to see less rain, forecasters said.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory along the Interstate 10 to Interstate 12 corridor from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday.
The advisory includes New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Slidell, Hammond and Laplace, according to NWS forecasters.
Maximum heat indices for New Orleans and Baton Rouge could be around 106 and 109 degrees, respectively.
