On Wednesday at 7:31 p.m. an updated flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 11 p.m. for Burlington County.
"At 7:31 p.m., Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring," states the weather service. "Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low-lying areas."
The weather service adds, "Don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do
