Tony Haase, of Weyauwega, was found not guilty of the 1992 murders of Tanna Togstad and Timothy Mumbrue Aug. 11 after a nearly monthlong trial.

Richard Togstad, brother of Tanna Togstad, and Waupaca County District Attorney Kat Turner said they found the verdict surprising and disappointing.

On the other side, Haase's defense attorneys expressed gratitude for the jury's conclusion from thorough deliberation.
