The California Baptist University women’s soccer team, last year’s Western Athletic Conference tournament champions, opens the 2025 season with high expectations.

Featuring 13 returning players and incoming transfers from Arizona, Creighton and Kentucky, the Lancers host Cal State Bakersfield at CBU Soccer Stadium on Thursday at 7 p.m.

“This year, we’re really excited about our incoming class that will pair nicely with our strong returning class,” CBU head coach Kristen St. Clair said.

Summer Allen, the 2025 WAC preseason co-defender of the year, is back for her fourth year and will anchor CBU’s defense. The defender started in 20 games last season and helped the Lancers limit opponents to just 20 goals with seven shutouts and was named to the WAC All-Tournament team.
