LONGVIEW — The suspect in last week’s fatal stabbing in Longview was arrested by police in Los Angeles, Longview police said Tuesday afternoon.

The announcement comes a day after Alexander Lee Rogers was also spotted in video surveillance in the L.A. area.

Lee had been on the run since the Aug. 5 stabbing that left 64-year-old Dawn Peters dead and a 73-year-old man injured.

Rogers, 51, of Longview, was charged last week with second-degree murder and first-degree assault. Both charges carry a deadly weapon enhancement.

“The hundreds of tips received during this investigation … played a key role” in the arrest, Longview Police Capt. Branden McNew said Tuesday.

Rogers’ vehicle, a black BMW, was found at about 1 a.m. Monday outside of L.A., McNew told The Daily News.
