MIDDLEBURG — A Northumberland County Children and Youth employee is charged with impersonating a public official to mislead a police investigation of her son, who is accused of assaulting his five-month-old child.

Caseworker Keira M. Ruiz Ruiz, 42, of Sunbury, used her work email to contact Dr. Pat Bruno, a pediatrician specializing in child abuse, after a police investigation was launched into the assault of her infant grandson who was treated at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville April 28 for broken ribs in varying degrees of healing, state police at Selinsgrove said.
