FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 5-year-old child was shot Wednesday night in Pinedale, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Police say just before midnight, officers received a call in the 300 block of West Pinedale Avenue regarding a six-round ShotSpotter activation. When officers arrived, they found a child who had been struck once in the forearm.
Investigators say there was a disturbance outside the home when shots were fired, and that is when the child, who was inside the home, was struck.
The 5-year-old was transported to Valley Children’s Hospital and is in stable condition, police said.
