The state of Alaska voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump but not everyone here is happy about the arrival of Vladimir Putin. A demonstration is even planned for this afternoon in a place where politics rarely spills into the streets.

Some see the summit as a rogues’ reunion, between the president indicted for war crimes and the president convicted of a felony in a New York courtroom. But whatever your politics are, the stage is set and it’s magnificent.
