Although southern Ontario has had a recent string of hot weather, one Stratford councillor is already thinking ahead to when the temperatures drop – and what that means for this city’s homeless population.

Next month, Coun. Geza Wordofa plans to introduce a motion to create a temporary shelter at the Stratford Rotary Complex and include this project as part of 2026 budget discussions.

“The Rotary complex has the space. We have a lot of parking and accessibility. It is easy for outreach workers to get to. It’s a community space with a lot of washrooms,” Wordofa said.
