A Hobart man is facing an attempted murder case for allegedly targeting a woman’s old boyfriend in a car in East Chicago. The victim was not wounded.
Tyreion Jackson, 26, is also charged with criminal recklessness and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. He posted a $6,000 cash bond Thursday.
East Chicago Police responded just before 8:30 p.m. July 17 to 141st Street and Catalpa Street, Detective Daryl Gordon of the Lake County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force wrote.
One officer found collateral property damage from the shooting – including a silver Honda with three bullet holes and another nearby vehicle with a flat from a stray bullet.
A home on the 4100 block of Catalpa Street was hit with gunfire. One bullet was found in a dining room, while a half-dozen were in the street.
