It has been said, “When life gives you lemons, make lemon aid”. That is exactly what Sheldon and Samantha Miller of Ottawa County did and have continued to do as they have navigated an interesting path the last few years in agriculture.
Sheldon grew up farming with his father, and at the age of 14 began working for a neighbor on their dairy farm. After high school he got a job working for the county and farming on the side until he was able to make the move to farm full time. “I was just looking at some paperwork the other day that showed we were a family of three that farmed 155 acres. That was probably in 2012 or 2013. Back in 08, I remember we farmed about 40 acres, and we hoped that so
