Candidate filings for municipal elections across the state closed earlier this week. Voters in Minneapolis will have multiple candidates to choose from as they select the next mayor and cast ballots for members of all 13 council seats.
Fifteen candidates, including current mayor Jacob Frey, have met the filing deadline to run for mayor of Minneapolis. Frey is running for his third term as the head of the state's most populous city.
The mayoral filings also include state Sen. Omar Fateh, the democratic-socialist who beat out Frey last month to win the endorsement of the Minneapolis Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.
