Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin has ordered the state police department to investigate staff at a Fairfax County school for allegedly hiding an abortion provided to a minor without parental consent, and potentially doing so with public money.

According to the news release published on Wednesday, reports allege that school staff assisted several students in obtaining abortions in 2021, and that the school administration may have been aware of the situation.

“My frustration with Fairfax County Public Schools runs deep, and it, of course, starts with respecting the role of parents in their children’s lives,” Youngkin told ABC 7News .

In a letter to staff and families at Centreville High School, where the apparent incidents occurred, the public school’s Superintendent Michelle Reid said
