As of Thursday afternoon, Ontario’s Forest Fire Info Map shows a wildfire in the northern portion of Marmora and Lake is under control.
The fire south of Coe Hill that started on Saturday is identified as Haliburton 18 remains just under 13 hectares. Two fires also continue to burn in the Kawartha Lakes region. A fire in the area of Burnt River is described as being held. It started on the weekend and still covers 27 hectares, or about a quarter of a square kilometre or forest. A second, bigger fire that began on Monday near Kirkfield is 33.5 hectares and is not yet under control. Click here to access the Province of Ontario’s Forest Fire Info Map.
