Measles has officially reached Mohave County. The case is hours away, near the Arizona-Utah border — but that doesn’t mean we can brush it off. The infected person didn’t travel overseas. They caught measles here, in our region, and they weren’t vaccinated. That matters more than the miles.

This is how outbreaks start: one unvaccinated person, no symptoms for days, and plenty of chances to spread the virus before anyone realizes what’s going on. If you’re still not vaccinated, now’s the time to change that. Check your records. Call your doctor. Get protected — before measles reaches your neighborhood. Measles isn’t just another cold.
