“I Useta Lover will go on ­forever,” Davy Carton, lead singer of The Saw Doctors, says. “It has passed into Irish folklore.”

In September, it will be 35 years since I Useta Lover went to No 1 in Ireland. The single was released by Solid Records in late July in 1990, just before the first Féile in Thurles.
