Hibs youngster Rory Whittaker has joined English Championship side Southampton on a permanent transfer.

The terms for the 18-year-old’s transfer will remain undisclosed.

Whittaker wrote his name in the Hibernian FC history books during the 2023/24 campaign, becoming the Club’s youngest ever player.

Aged 16 years old and 44 days, the young right-back made his senior debut in a win over St Johnstone at Easter Road, breaking Jamie McCluskey’s record.

During his time at the Club, Whittaker has gone on to make 14 First Team appearances and helped Hibs’ Under-18s win the CAS Elite U18 League last season. He also had a short spell on loan with Scottish League 2 side Spartans.
