Aubrey Plaza hopes to visit Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss before playing her in a movie biopic. The Parks and Recreation actress is set to star in and produce The Heidi Fleiss Story, a dark comedy that will follow the final days leading up to Fleiss' 1993 arrest, when authorities exposed her high-end prostitution ring operating in Los Angeles. Addressing her latest role, which was announced earlier this month, Plaza told IndieWire that she decided she wanted to play Weiss a couple of years ago, but she has yet to speak with her in person. "I've been on this track for a while," she shared. "I have not spoken with her, (but) I hope so. I hope to make a little trip to her place in the desert at some point. Spiritually, I feel her. I've heard she's very excited about it. We're in early stages." Plaza noted that this will be the first time she has played a real-life person, and she wants to give Fleiss "the royal treatment" she deserves. "It's a different kind of scale, challenge, that I'm really excited about, and I just think she's an incredible person, incredible character," she said. "The story is insane. She's done something that probably nobody else has ever done, and she's still going. I think she's the ultimate badass icon and she deserves the royal treatment. We shall give it to her." The White Lotus star is producing the project through her company Evil Hag. Fleiss rose to prominence in the early 1990s for allegedly running the "world's largest high-end prostitution ring" that catered to celebrities, media executives and other powerful figures. Her empire collapsed in June 1993, when she was arrested and later charged with pandering, tax evasion and money laundering.
