A man accused of trying to murder a woman at a bus stop in Headingley will stand trial.
Ibrahim Albashir, 33, of no fixed address, was charged following the reported attack on March 17 last year. A woman in her 30s was said to have been standing near a bus stop in Otley Road when she was approached and attacked by a man carrying a broken glass bottle.
She suffered cuts to her head and neck and nearby security staff managed to keep hold of a man until police arrived. Mr Albashir was previously charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and remanded into custody.
He appeared for a plea hearing at Leeds Crown Court on Friday over a video link from Ghyll Royd Hospital, where he is currently remanded. Mr Albashir, through a French interpreter,
