ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina reports a man was sentenced on Thursday after pleading guilty to drug trafficking and firearm charges.

Filed court documents said law enforcement began investigating 28-year-old Torrey Lane Hodsden, who was on federal probation in South Carolina, for drug trafficking in March 2023.

Hodsden evaded a traffic stop on Mar. 7, 2023, before officers obtained warrants and conducted another traffic stop for Hodsden, who was in a different vehicle, according to court documents.

Court documents report a search performed on Hodsden recovered a XDS .45 caliber pistol loaded with five rounds of ammunition and more than $3,694 in cash. A search of his vehicle uncovered $44,661 in cash, me
