ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rock Valley College (RVC) marks a significant milestone in the construction of its new Downtown West Campus with a Last Beam Celebration, fittingly taking place on 815 Day. The new RVC branch is being built at the intersection of Chestnut and Winnebago Streets.
The Downtown West Campus, which began construction on March 27, 2024, is on track to open in August 2026. It is expected to become a central hub for adult education and workforce development in the Rockford region.
“This project represents far more than brick and steel,” RVC President Dr. Howard Spearman said. “It’s about building access to education, access to opportunity, and access to a brighter future for adult learners across the Rockford region.”
