Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Windham, Maine, on Friday afternoon, and they are also reportedly searching for a vehicle that fled the scene.

Maine State Police said they are assisting Windham police with a shooting that occurred around 1:55 p.m. Friday on Route 302 in North Windham. They said further information will be released as it becomes available.

A dispatcher for the Cumberland County Regional Communications Center said Route 302 is closed at Landing Road. There are a number of businesses in the area, including a Lowe's, a Walmart and a McDonald's.
