A Frontier Airlines pilot based at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is facing serious allegations after allegedly making a false bomb threat against one of the carrier's flights. The police say the incident, which happened back in May, appears to have been an attempt to target a former Frontier employee with whom he had a personal history.

In addition to the bomb threat accusation, he is also facing separate criminal charges in Kentuky. Such false bomb threats, both in the air and on the ground, have occurred multiple times in recent years. Depending on the circumstances, they can lead to costly diversions, emergency landings, evacuations, and extensive security sweeps.
