NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - Good news for us is that the Gulf system near Mexico is on a downward spiral, but Hurricane Erin out in the Atlantic isn't see that same trend.
Starting with the western portion of the Gulf of America, the disturbance that we've been following has a center that's moved inland near the Rio Grande.
The National Hurricane Center says, "Showers and thunderstorms have diminished in the past few hours and additional development is no longer expected" so formation chances have dropped down to 0% for the next 48-hours and over the coming 7-days.
The area will still see some lingering showers and thunderstorms that could produce heavy rainfall leading to flooding for parts of northeastern Mexico and southern Texas over the next day or so.
As for Hurricane Erin. this hurrica
