(FOX40.COM) — The City of Sacramento is participating in a statewide campaign aimed at reducing speeding earlier this week called "Slow the Fast Down."
According to the city, the message of the campaign is focused around the idea that small reductions in driving speed can "dramatically lower the risk of serious injury or death for pedestrians and bicyclists."

The campaign features 15-second public service announcements that will play on YouTube, gaming and streaming platforms, the city said. The message will also be shared on billboards and transit shelters.
The campaign, which will run through August 24, is intentionally timed with the start of the school year.
