What to know about the Trump-Putin meeting today
President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are meeting in Alaska for a high-stakes summit over ending the war in Ukraine.
The two leaders greeted each other at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, shaking hands and walking down a red carpet before entering the presidential limousine together. A bilateral meeting is now underway. Mr. Trump and Putin are expected to hold a joint press conference after the talks.
Mr. Trump has said he wants to secure a ceasefire in Ukraine, which Russia invaded in 2022.
