Some foreign country flags at Canyon Ridge High School will be rehung "in the near future" after Twin Falls School District removed the flags this summer in response to a new state law.
School leaders at Canyon Ridge are looking into which flags are allowed, according to district spokesperson Eva Craner.
The flags were originally displayed to represent the range of countries that refugee students are from.
Public schools in Idaho, as of July 1, are not allowed to display flags or banners that represent political, religious or ideological views, including political parties, race, gender or sexual orientation, under House Bill 41 .
The law allows schools to display the American flag, state flags, Native American flags, and flags of foreign nations that are not hostile to the U.S.
