DALLAS — It has been nearly two weeks since Texas Democrats left the state to break quorum and prevent any business in the Texas House, and the redistricting battle shows no signs of a truce, and in fact, continues to expand nationally.
Illinois Republicans recently invited the chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, Abraham George, to speak at a rally denouncing Texas Democrats, many of whom remain near Chicago.
George said while he’s had some conversations with Republican counterparts in states like Illinois and California, where Democrats have threatened their own redistricting effort to blunt any Republican gains in Texas, the GOP isn’t terribly worried about the redraw backfiring on the party.
