STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- For the past 15 summers, students in the PA program at Wagner College have volunteered at the Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne, New York.

Double H Ranch was founded by Charles R. Wood and Paul Newman in 1993 as a summer camp aimed at helping children battling serious illnesses. It has since grown to include programs for families and winter sports.

“It’s an opportunity for kids with different medical illnesses to experience childhood,” said Jacqui Royael, vice president of operations at Double H Ranch. “They’re able to do things that in their day-to-day they’re often told ‘no.’”
