Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward (1) throws the ball during training camp practice.

No. 1 is, once again, No. 1 on the depth chart.

The Tennessee Titans are set to kick off the second week of the NFL preseason and fans will be treated to watching the top pick in action.

Cam Ward, drafted No. 1 in the 2025 NFL Draft, made his preseason debut last week, completing 5-of-8 passes for 67 yards in just two series of action. While his first action was a three-and-out, the rookie capped off his performance by leading an 11-play, 65-yard touchdown drive that will have Titans fans hopeful as the regular season nears.

Don't expect to see Ward play too much on Friday night, however. The team isn't looking to overexpose the quarterback to any potential injuries during preseason action.

Here's what to know about the Titans' plans for Ward as they take on the Atlanta Falcons.

Is Cam Ward playing tonight?

Ward will be suiting up for the Titans in Week 2 of the preseason.

Head coach Brian Callahan told reporters on Aug. 13 that Ward likely will play around two series, as he did in Week 1.

"He played two series last week," Callahan said. "I'd like to kind of continue that. Just the game, being in the stadium and game reps, I think is important. Whether or not we're playing against starters, it doesn't really matter. It's more just to be in the stadium on the field by himself, hearing the calls, managing the clock, all those things."

The quarterback likely won't be in the game beyond that since the Titans won't be letting the No. 1 pick stay in as players rotate out for the night.

"As long as our starters are in there, he'll be in there," Callahan said.
