OAKLAND — A man who allegedly fatally shot another man who he was trying to get to leave his family’s North Oakland home last week has been charged with murder, according to authorities and court documents.

John Cvar, 72, was charged Tuesday in the fatal Aug. 9 shooting of Aknico Heidengren, 33, a transient, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 2 p.m. inside a home in the 500 block of Aileen Street that had been owned for decades by the Cvar family, authorities said.

Cvar’s youngest brother was living there; because of health issues, Cvar and another brother routinely checked on him, authorities said.
