ATLANTA — Some Centers for Disease Control and Prevention employees will continue to work from home next week following last Friday's shooting, which left windows and buildings damaged on its campus.

In an alert sent to employees, the CDC informed its workers that staff who work in buildings 16, 18, 21 and 24 on the Roybal campus will continue to telework next week, Aug. 18 - Aug. 22, except for those who provide critical services that must take place on site. Examples of those services include critical lab or animal care staff.

All other staff at the Roybal campus along with others nationwide will have a "telework-optional posture." They will be allowed to use "situational telework" as needed, the operational update mentioned.
