SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR) -- The Orange start the season off with a demanding performance on both sides of the field, shutting out Charleston Southern 5-0 on Friday.
Graduate student, Ashley Rauch led the team with two goals and Syracuse scored all five of their goals in the first half. Anna Croyle, Mia Klammer and Olivia Bozzo also scored a goal each.
Syracuse outshot Charleston Southern, 14-5, and won their season opener for the second straight season. The Orange host Niagara on Sunday, August 17th, at 6 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium.
