President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met on the tarmac of a U.S. air base in Alaska and began a closed-door meeting over the Ukraine war.

Trump said on Air Force One that he might consider U.S. security guarantees for Ukraine, outside of the NATO alliance.

The Kremlin estimated the Trump-Putin meeting could last as long as 6 or 7 hours, state media reported.

The Russian president teased the possibility of a nuclear arms control deal.
