Homeowner says digging for development next door has put her yard — and her family’s safety — at risk.

Neighbours in the northwest community of Charleswood are rallying around Kathy Kaiser, who says a large development next door has put her yard — and her family’s safety — at risk.

Since June 28, when Looma Homes Ltd. and subcontractor Kang Construction Ltd. began work at a property in the 4700 block of Chapel Road N.W., Kaiser said the project has brought her nothing but frustration.

The removal of what she described as a 45-year-old spruce tree stump, located just a metre from her fence on July 12, triggered the slow erosion of the land under her fence and deck, which now teeters above a several-metre drop.
