The Wisconsin Department of Justice identified the people involved in a July officer-involved shooting in De Pere as an investigation into the incident continues.

According to a Department of Justice news release, law enforcement officers from multiple agencies were dispatched to the Perkofski Boat Launch , 1500 Fort Howard Ave., in De Pere just before 1 a.m. July 26 for a report of a person with a rifle. The person with the rifle has been identified as Scott McDonald, 44, the release said.

Officers attempted to negotiate with McDonald, the release said, and shortly after, McDonald produced a rifle. Six officers discharged their weapons, and McDonald was pronounced dead at the scene despite officers immediately rendering aid, the release said.
