Halton Regional Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a home invasion robbery that occurred in Oakville. The incident took place on July 21 at approximately 9 a.m. in the vicinity of Kerr Street and Speers Road.
According to police, the suspect entered the residence through a window. Once inside, he confronted an adult resident while brandishing a knife and demanded cash. The victim complied, providing a small amount of money, after which the suspect fled the scene. Fortunately, the victim did not suffer any physical injuries during the encounter.
The suspect is described as a male in his early to mid-20s, with a heavy build and medium-length dark hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a long-sleeve black shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers. Authorities noted that the suspect is known to use public transit.

In a separate incident, Durham Regional Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Whitby. The robbery took place on Tuesday around 7:30 p.m. while a victim was selling a microphone through Facebook Marketplace. During the meeting, one suspect approached with a knife and stole the microphone, while another suspect assisted in the theft. Both suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored Acura SUV.
The first suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 20 years old, standing 5-foot-9 with a slim build and dreadlocks. He was wearing a purple and black jacket, black tracksuit, and white Nike running shoes. The second suspect is also a Black male, around 20 years old, wearing a blue medical mask, a black hooded sweater with a white emblem, black pants, and white running shoes.
Police are urging anyone with information or security camera footage from the area of Winchester Road East and Queen Street, or St. Thomas Street between 7:10 and 7:25 p.m. on Tuesday, to contact Det. Additionally, Peel Police are investigating a fraud case involving the impersonation of a police officer in Brampton. On August 9, a victim received a spam text and subsequently provided personal information to someone claiming to be a Toronto Police undercover officer. Later, two suspects arrived at the victim's home in a black SUV, where the victim handed over bank cards, resulting in a loss of $15,000.
The driver of the suspect vehicle is described as a South Asian male, aged 36-38, with short black hair and a heavy build, wearing a checkered dress shirt. The passenger is also a South Asian male. The vehicle is described as a new black four-door Mitsubishi SUV, which had a working computer inside with a police sticker.

In Hamilton, a police officer has been charged in connection with a historic domestic incident. The officer, a 17-year veteran of the Hamilton Police Service, faces charges of assault and mischief under $5,000. The 46-year-old officer is scheduled to appear in court on September 11, 2025.
