LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — After announcing it last week , Governor Lombardo has officially authorized the Nevada National Guard to assist the Department of Homeland Security on immigration enforcement.

In a release sent Friday, Lombardo confirmed that a small contingent of guardsmen will assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with “administrative” duties for a temporary period of time. 35 soldiers will be sanctioned to assist until November 15.

The release adds that each soldier has volunteered for the duty, “demonstrating their readiness to serve.”
