PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — There's a new way to watch Rhode Island FC.

The club's upcoming game against Birmingham Legion FC will be shown live on WPRI 12+, our free TV app available on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Samsung smart TVs.

The game kicks off at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket.

Rhode Island FC is coming off a 1-0 win over Detroit City FC, but they've had their struggles so far this season. The reigning USL Championship Eastern Conference champs are currently in eighth place with a 5-6-9 record and -5 goal differential.

However, they're still in playoff contention, since the top eight teams in each conference make the postseason.

Birmingham is sitting below them in eleventh, with a 4-7-9 record and -9 goal differential.
