A dispute over a PlayStation5 with a stepsibling last year has led a man to not only out himself as a squatter to police, but to land him a two- to four-year prison sentence, said the office of District Attorney Melinda Katz.

True Jackson, 41, pleaded guilty to burglary last month after illegally occupying a vacant single-family home in St. Albans in 2024 with his stepbrother and the latter’s girlfriend. He was sentenced on Tuesday, Aug. 12.

Jackson’s co-defendants, Saliam Sudler, his stepbrother, and Shania Outar, the latter’s paramour, pleaded guilty earlier this year to criminal trespass and were given conditional discharges, said prosecutors.

The trio were initially charged with burglary, theft of services, petit larceny, criminal trespass and criminal possession of stolen property
