A youth in Ottawa has been charged with multiple drug and firearm offenses following a traffic stop early Thursday morning. The incident occurred just after midnight in the 1400 block of Carling Avenue, according to the Ottawa Police Service.

Officers from the West Neighbourhood Resource Team initiated the traffic stop and, during their interaction with the driver, noticed drug paraphernalia and a white substance inside the vehicle. As the officers proceeded with the arrest, they discovered a loaded firearm and additional drugs on the individual.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed more drugs and a quantity of cash. In total, the youth faces 10 charges related to drug and firearm offenses.
