Butte-Silver Bow is not totally “out of the water” yet, but areas affected by the “Do Not Consume” warning issued Wednesday has gotten considerably smaller, officials said Friday.
The Wednesday afternoon warning came after city officials learned water that Montana Resources used to wash its facilities got into Butte’s municipal water system.
The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has lifted the advisory order for B-SB except for an isolated area where possible contamination may have occurred.
During a Friday afternoon press conference, B-SB Chief Executive J.P. Gallagher said the advisory warning remains for an area located south of Farrell Street, west of Continental Drive, north of Ottawa Street, and east of Farragut Avenue and Howard Street.
