CHICAGO (WGN) — If Division Street is the heart of Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood, then Cristian Roldán may very well be its soul.
Throughout the area, his artwork murals adorn the sidewalks and buildings in bright, spectacular and provocative ways. At age 35, Roldán says he can't remember a time he didn't have a brush in his hand.
"I was always drawing and painting," he told WGN one recent day.
His passion will soon be on display for all. On the 1700 block of North Ashland Avenue, along the Kennedy Expressway, is the Wintrust Mural Building. Wintrust Bank invites local non-profits that address critical needs throughout Chicago, from education to housing, health care and more, to amplify their work through the vision of art.
