MINNEAPOLIS — A pair of fishermen may have made the catch of their lives when they helped solve a cold case nearly 60 years old.

On Saturday, Brody Loch and James Ham were fishing in the Mississippi River in Sartell when they detected an odd image on their new sonar fish locator.

“I turned my transducer around, and it was just right in front of the boat,” Loch recalled, adding: “We did think it was a rock at first, but it looked like – to me – that it was the body style of an old Cadillac or something.”

Loch returned the next day with his family to confirm his suspicions.

“That’s a car, 100 percent,” you can hear him say on a video showing his locator lit up in red.
